1. Define the assessment before opening the builder
Write down the authority, class, subject, textbook edition, chapter and medium. Decide what the students should demonstrate, how much time they have and which kinds of response are appropriate.
- Use the lesson actually taught, not an assumed full syllabus.
- Set an intended question count and marks total.
- Have enough reviewed questions available for that scope.
2. Select the question-bank source
Open Exam Papers and the guided builder. Choose your organisation’s bank, the public bank or both where appropriate. Changing banks resets question selections, so choose the source before working on the question mix.
3. Add the paper identity and rules
Give the paper a meaningful title and, if helpful, an assessment label. In the rules step, set the duration and scoring policy. Use a saved pattern only when its structure matches this assessment. Review any answer-key and student-instruction options.
4. Choose the curriculum and chapter scope
In Question mix, choose the exact curriculum area. Limit topics to the chapter when the topic selector provides that scope. Use available classifications, counts and marks deliberately. If topics or mappings do not load, refresh and resolve the issue before relying on a chapter-specific result.
- Do not infer chapter coverage from the total question count.
- Do not change the question’s meaning to fit a category.
- Check section totals after changing the selection.
5. Review the complete draft
Build the preview and inspect the actual selected questions. Check every stem, dependent passage or diagram, choice, answer and mark. Replace unsuitable material using the controls available in the application. A teacher must decide whether the paper matches the lesson.
6. Check the final output before sharing
Save only the reviewed assessment. Open its available print/export workflow and inspect the student paper and key. Check pagination, equations, diagrams, language direction and total marks. Recheck the output after any later edit.
